Quite a good chest harness, child likely to figure it out quite quickly
This chest clip is quite good, it has deterred my child from trying to get his arms out of the car seat straps. It's not particularly difficult to just unclip, and even easier to just remove one of the sides from the strap, so I would say he'll probably figure it out quite quickly if he feels inclined to do so. The monkey doesn't really help much, but has become a good distraction for my son.Update: It only took a few weeks and he figured out a way around it. On our first longer journey my son wanted some freedom. He pushed the clip down (it slides easily up and down the seat straps unfortunately). He pushed it down to the child seat buckle, and could then get his arms out above it as he has previously done. Not ideal when travelling on a motorway

Does not fit over straps with padding
Our 17 month old is in a phase of taking the straps off from her shoulders on everything. This is a huge problem in the car seat, as they are a safety feature to take impact in the event of a crash. I have her forward facing and really did not want to put her back to rearward facing, so I bought these to stop her. Unfortunately the straps on her car seat have padding on them and these don't fit over them. I must admit the padding is quite thick so if your seats straps aren't heavily padded they may work. I have also tried in her buggy as she gets out and starts to stand. I find I have to have it quite far up (i always feel like it looks to close to her neck). She can sometimes get one arm out with a lot of effort, and then she gets upset as she is stuck, so it doesfundamentallystopherfromdoingwhatIwastryingtostop, but I feel awful. Ideally these would be shorter so the straps are closer together at a lower point. From speaking to other parents i can tell my daughter is worse than the average toddler for trying to get out, so this will work for children who are not as adamant to escape haha

Brilliant device
Son is 4 (ASD) and has escaped most harnesses! This is perfect, easy to use, very secure as after closing there is another lock to secure, so he is unable to open ! Game changer!

Not good at stopping a toddler escaping
My two year old grandson was able to remove this very easily from the car seat . Unfortunately it was after the 30 days or we would have requested our money back.

UK - perfectly legal WITH THE RIGHT CAR SEAT
Ok so I'm just addressing the legal thing because I know people have freaked out and there is a very specific law.The easiest way to check if you can use this is to check your car seat. It's COVERED in labels and stickers. Somewhere, on one of those, you will find an R number. If your seat meets R129 regulations you're clear. Some non judgemental unsolicited mum advice? Don't remove labels from car seats. Don't buy them second hand. Don't add untested accessories. Blah Blah Blah scary death percentages. Blah Blah Blah laws that are rarely enforced. It boils down to this:If you have a 5point harness in your car seat you CAN NOT legally (or safely) use this. This will likely only be enforced if you were pulled over for speeding/drink driving as an extra offence. No policeman is looking in car windows for inappropriate buckles. My car seat meets R129. My daughter is an escape artist. I have to tighten this to the Nth degree and pull her straps super tight and STILL the little monster has managed to get out and stand up. Not really great when you're on a dual carriageway. It's illegal for her not to wear the belt. It's illegal for me to stop in the road. BOTH ARE DANGEROUS. And they're worried that if you have a 5 point harness it might be harder for you to get the child out of the seat in the event of a serious crash.Look up the law. Look up seatbelt knifey things, decide for yourself which risk bothers you most. But if you're R129 strap it on and don't worry, it's safe and legal. The cuddly face was great for the first 2 days. I have NO idea where it is now.
