I was having problems with my wifi in my home office. At times when I least expected it, the wifi signal would be lost. The main problem is it would go down while I was compiling programs via vpn remotely to a customers location.I tried on of the little thumb drive wifi and it would see the inbound cable router hub only 1/2 the time. Before going to a wifi extender I thought I would give this big guy a try. My house is 2600 square feet the cable modem is on one side of the house and my office is totally on the other. I hooked this guy up in the pci slot and moved the external antenae up about three more feet. It has a magnetic base and on line I have seen it attached to the computer with the magnet. Maybe I am a little old school but magnets on my computer does not sound like a good idea.This hardware works really well with very little packet loss compare to hard wiring it into the router.Now my wife wants one for her laptop. I had to explain to her about the pci card.. Oh well.But really if you needing a robust wifi to put on your desktop AND you have an empty pci spot.Purchase this guy you won't be sorry

The good:It's well packagedIt's built wellThe antennae and base are built like tanksThe antennae cables are thickWindows 10 picked up the card immediately and it just workedThe bad:The card advertises up to 867 Mbps on a 5Ghz network. Mine struggled to reach 200 Mbps while my old card easily hits 350-400 Mbps.I installed the (older) drivers from the website to see if that was the issue and the card stopped working entirely. It wouldn't even connect to either 5Ghz or 2Ghz networks.After about an hour of tinkering, I gave up and reinstalled my old card.The summary:If you don't really care about getting > 200Mbps, or your internet provider doesn't support that speed, then I can absolutely recommend this card. I'm more than happy with the quality of everything from the packaging to the soldering. If you want those faster speeds though, I'd stay away.Edit: Changing this review to 3 stars due to good customer support.

For the price this product was worth it. Quick delivery and easy install. I was not looking for PCI network card but saw the price and order to replace the old network card that had reach the end of its time.

I picked this pcie wifi card because of the ease of use and because of the specs. Its simple open the box plug in the card screw in the 2 antennas and then either insert the disc or go on the website to update the drivers. All in all it took me 5 minutes to plug it in and download the drivers. After that 5 minutes I had clear full wifi signal. Amazing product. Very happy with what I got and the affordable price I paid.

Easy to install card. Just have PCle 16 slot on motherboard. Screw the antenna to the two terminals and put Antenna anywhere within reach. Mine's on top of tower..looks COOL! Technical..picked up 3-4 mbps or more on WIFI throughput, download and upload. Great for WIFI network or single computer. Send me a free one and I'll write another glowing account. Got a network PC upstairs could use a boost. I LUV it!!

This external antenna covers my hard drive tower which is set in another room, through many dry walls not metal framing on the same floor, but is not in a direct line-of-sight with our residential 5 GHz wi-fi router. No information lag time. I have not tested to TX/Rx it from the basement which is two-story below from the router. I applaud the antenna design. Thanks for making an affordable antenna for my home built PC project.

I had to get a new card, as my old one was dropping signal once every few days and requiring a system restart. The old one was getting about 100mbs (pretty far from my router). This new one was easy to install but I'm disappointed that it only gets about 60mbs. My macbook pro, sitting in the same place, gets around 300mbs. It'd also be nice if the cord was longer to move the antenna even farther, or if they recommended an extension.

Easy to install. Somewhat disappointed with speed test readings. Only about 15 feet from router on floor above. Not really sure that it has good range through normal drywall walls.

Early days, but so far on 2g I’ve gone from 2 bars to full bars reception wise and now at 130Mbps WiFi speed, and the full (Sky quoted) 36Mbps broadbands download speed. My office is in the attic 2 floors above the router. Previously I had an internet speed of around 15Mbps and it was sketchy at times. 5g wise only 1 bar and 230Mbps WiFi speed, 36Mbps broadband. Good solid build quality, I saw another review saying questionable build and can’t see why that was stated?! The magnet is certainly strong and holds the antenna firmly in place.

I live in Kingston Upon Hull and what a lot of people don't know is we have our own telecommunication system independent from BT. There are a number of Lightstream packages ranging from 36 meg to 900 mbps I opted for the 70mbps,quite fast enough for me. On installation I did a speed test and sure enough I got around 70mbps, when I tried it on my PC I only got 7mbps,.so it had to be my network card and promptly bought the BrosTrend card. I downloaded the drivers before installing the card which was very easy and fired up my PC the results were I now had my 70mbps back and on the 2G and 5G channels ! I am not a computer techy but the results speak for themselves.5* for both install and ease of use. I cannot really comment on the gaming because I only use mine for general browsing use but would think it could handle gaming with ease, Would highly recommend

I have been having trouble with slow Wifi for a while! Firstly I obtained the latest router from my ISP which greatly boosted the performance on my laptop but my PC was still deadly slow. I chose the Bostrend after a little research on the net as it seemed to offer good value for money. It duly arrived the next day and was installed in my PC. I switched it on and the card was there and working instantly! I installed the latest drivers as advised with out too much effort and this card has been performing faultlessly ever since. I am seeing Internet download and upload speeds I had only previously dreamt of, to say I'm delighted with this card is an understatement!

want a WIFI adaptor that keeps breaking, with a driver download page from the manufacturer that installs unwanted programs on your computer you don't want? then buy this product.drops internet majority of the time. then drops signal down to no bars, when all other devices have full singal. website for the drivers installed 2 programs on my PC I never asked for and cant remove, AND the driver didn't work.I have wasted more time on trying to keep this thing up and working than I have done anything else with it. I have barely had internet connection for more than a few hours. some days not at all as I decides it just doesn't want to do anything. downloads speeds when it is connected are around 200k/bs when my phone in the same spot in the house motors on at 2 or 3mb/s.void this waste of time and money like the plague.

The BrosTrend 1200 product was easier to install than I expected. I have ordered two of these products in the last few days. The delivery was exceptional and installation seemed easy than I expected. As I am over 70 years old and not especially computer literate, the product worked very well and the internet delivery speeds were excellent.I have no real criticism, but, It might be helpful if you are able to inform your customers with a simple instructional brief on the installation and loading procedure.However when I installed and loaded the software it took about 15 minutes, for each computer.Anyway, thanks for your product, we hope to get a lot of use from it.Best Regards
