The fourth edition of the "Cambridge Advanced Learner’s Dictionary" is appealing in respect of the text printed in multicolored—black and brown. Definitions are great in the sense that a learner can easily understand a meaning of even a critical word easily. The font size of this paperback dictionary is also slightly bigger than that of its competitors' Advanced Leaner's Dictionaries of English, giving you the feasibility to ward off eyestrain. Its paper quality is better than any other advanced learner's English dictionary of Indian edition. The ISBN of the paper back dictionary I have purchased is 9781107504448 and a CD-ROM also has accompanied with it. One of the interesting things I noticed in the dictionary is—the example sentences are lucid and they give you a feeling that as if you really are communicating with the dictionary. The phrasal verbs and idioms sections are also awesome being simple to understand. Additionally, some topics like formal writing, academic writing, informal writing and presentations have been explained in the middle of the dictionary with a title “Focus on Writing”— surely it will help learners of English to hone their writing skills.Only a little bit discomfort is that font size of the example sentences in the CD-ROM are smaller than its other competitors’ Advanced Learner’s Dictionary of English. Though we set screen of CALD (CD-ROM) to the larger/maximum, it does not as zoom in well as other dictionaries do. The people who have bad eyesight will face a little difficulty to view the example sentences in the CD-ROM. Except this limitation, the dictionary is indeed marvelous in all respects.Overall, I am contended with the dictionary for the cost I have incurred on it, and I recommend a non-native learner of English to buy it if she/he is desirous to improve their English through a monolingual English-English dictionary.I thank a lot to amazon.in for delivering the dictionary within the time in intact condition.S. This is the best dictionary for advance learners & who are interested not only the meaning but also for proper use of words in sentence making. Noun, verb, adjective & adverb use of word is explained. Highly recommendable.

I have loved dictionary. Well it helps in lot of things and when it's a Cambridge. It makes our work much easier. Love it.

better than oxford dictionary in terms of paper quality and font size, also the definitions are very easy to understand.don't even think about not buying it just because it's the 4rth edition, duh.infact even oxford itself would not promise for every new word's meaning there is out there to be in their dictionary. you have to take the help of internet at some point for a few new words or slangs.thanks for checking my review!

The media could not be loaded. This book is much much better than Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary - which was a renowned one, don't buy Oxford Dictionary. It contains a proper description of a word. I think this is the best dictionary which I had ever seen, you will loved it.

I want more in it, like all forms of verb next to verb including ING form. I found many words are not mentioned. Newspapers comes with different different words few of them are not here.You have to add more words from every field human endeavour, education, from earth to universe, engineering, medical, science, geology, geography, etc.Your dictionary must be like the elephant footprint in which every one feet is fit wholly.You should also publish a supplementary dictionary of latest updates with extra ordinary words for the purpose of your old dictionary holder.

The dictionary was packed properly and wrapped with cover to avoid any damage. Satisfied with the delivery and product. Also the CD packed along with the dictionary was in good condition.
