Unique fit
Actually really liking the fit. Neck fit is pretty tight, which I like. Material is pretty thick and very absorbent. Good for exercise

Nice and soft
This is a nice and soft black shirt. The material is quite durable and slightly thicker than I'd expect a T-shirt to be. It would've too warm for me in the summer to wear this so I would likely wear it in the spring or fall. The sizing chart is not entirely accurate -- I would advise you get the normal size you wear in this shirt and it will fit you fine. Overall it's soft and a great shirt.

Starchy and oddly tailored in the shoulders, this shirt quality doesn't meet the AA of yore.
I jumped at the opportunity to try out an American Apparel shirt through Amazon Vine. I used to wear a decent number of American Apparel tees, from band shirt to in-house graphic, plain tees in standard weight, heavy box and x-long...and that's just the t-shirts.In short, this *new* American Apparel top feels less like a return to form, and more like the questionable output of a holding company reviving a brand with inferior product.Fabric: Feels more like a heavyweight Gildan. The shirt is oddly stiff, materially speaking.Stitching: Seems fine—nothing jumped out as imperfect/incorrect to me.Fit: *Really* doesn't match the similarly sized model. Baggy shoulders, combined with odd starchiness, leave me looking like I have anemically pointy shoulders. I'll update if fit changes after a wash or two.In short, though, this is not wearable off the rack as far as I'm concerned, due in part to what felt like an unfinished product going out the door (accompanied by inconsistent photography/awful photoshopping, according to the Amazon page, which all screams "this is not actually American Apparel").Maybe this shirt will soften up and fit better after a wash or two, but so far, this doesn't hold a candle to the American Apparel tops or tees I once knew, because I'm 99% sure it's not actually an American Apparel top.edit: I figured it out. This is a top, not a t-shirt—the fabric used matches that used for polo shirts. Realizing the material in use made me reconsider the type of clothing article this is, and I'd recommend the listing title reflect that. That said, I changed my two star review to three, as it did fit nominally better once washed/dried (and in turn, shrunk).

100% Cotton! Good fit, thick material
I'm always looking for all-cotton clothes because I like the feel and fit best. Got this for my husband, who is 6' 2" and about 190 lbs. He usually wears an XL mostly for the length, but this is a size large and it fits well. It has been washed and dried, and doesn't seem to have shrunk more than just a tad. It is not your regular cheap t-shirt, the fabric is a nice thickness that will hold up over time.

Comfortable Heavyweight Tee
This is a swell 100% cotton tee. What I find odd about it is that it’s clearly labeled as a “Gildan” tee that has been repurposed and over-labeled as an “American Apparel” tee. (Gildan is a brand of active wear most commonly purchased in bulk by ad specialty companies to imprint corporate messages on.) Again, it’s a fine tee shirt; I just find it strange that even though Gildan owns the American Apparel brand, it doesn’t have its own private label AA branded merch. It’s a bit confusing. In any case, those labels are designed to be torn away, so that they don’t interfere with your comfort while wearing the garment. No harm, no foul. The garment itself is a heavyweight tee with a relaxed fit that is true to size, so order the size you normally order; do not adjust up or down. The shirt will likely be slightly larger until washed, after which it will fit perfectly.

Fits True to Size
Got this for my brother since he's a big fan of black t-shirts for some reason. He loves it to be blunt. The fabric is super soft and nice quality, while the size is true-to-fit.
