Go down about a half size.
I'm always looking for good boots. I work Site Development, that pretty much speaks for itself.Never heard of this brand, so I decided to try them out and definitely glad I did.If you ever worn a pair of Dan Post work boots, then that is what you can expect. I would put my pair of boots up against any.Just like Dan Post boots they run a little big. I wear a 8 usually but got a 7.5 and it's perfect. The quality is there and they are very comfortable.

Quality leather and construction
These boots are overally excellent. I have several pair of leather work boots, and these are as good or better than all of them. Out of the box, the leather is in very good condition. It is thick but malleable, the stitching at the welt, the stitching between leather pieces, and the decorative stitching is all done perfectly. The leather has a uniform coloring over an appreciable full grain texture. It is thick so it feels somewhat stiff out of the box especially at the toe, which is good. Square toe box feels great leaving plenty of wiggle room for my toes, and yet plenty of taper thru the mid foot so you don't slip. The rubber sole is shaped well for my normal arch foot. The removable insoles is fitted perfectly into the shoe so that it fits snugly without slipping around at all even tho it doesn't have any glue keeping it in place. Since it's not glued it can be removed without issue to swap out an alternative for your foot or replace as it wears down. I find it supportive and comfortable, again this will vary depending on your foot (normal arch for me). Under this, there must be some sort of shank because the mid foot/arch feels very sturdy.I found the bolt shape to be excellent as well. There is a wide opening that tapers down to the ankle so that you can easily slip your foot and leg into it easily but it will hold firm on your foot. I find it to fit best with a medium thickness wool sock. I have much skinnier than average legs so I expect a looser fitment around the ankle and calf for this style of boot - these boots are fairly typical fitment for a wellington style so will work well for an average thickness calf. There is enough room to tuck jeans in to the top easily. At the top each boot has two thick leather straps that are firmly stitched on so that you can grab hold and pull hard to facilitate donning the boot.Overall warmth and insulation is excellent. Its quite cold here locally with temps staying in the teens and 20s fahrenheit. With a medium wool sock my feet were very happy, not cold in the slightest, and not sweating from too much heat. This is facilitated by a decent thickness liner inside of the thick leather that forms the boot. Love it.The boot overall has a good look and style. It is definitely built more as a work boot than a fashion boot, but the quality stitching and leather cleans up and conditions well enough that you can wear this is socially too - it's just definitely not a dress boot.I have not fully tested the waterproofing yet, but the Goodyear welt construction bodes well. Once I get into some really nasty water and mud I will update the review if there are any issues.

Nice construction. They run large.
These boots have a solvent smell right out of the box…almost like a gasoline smell. I’m curious to know what that is all about. I would take comfort in knowing that they will likely air-out soon, but I will likely be returning them anyway. I’m getting heel slippage, and I can’t wear them. My normal shoe size is US 10.5, I’ve been wearing that size for years. The first pair of Sureway boots I got were in a size 10.5, but they were too big so I returned them. I got these boots in a 10, and they are still too big. I guess I need to go down to a 9.5?! Maybe I’ll try a 9.5 soon. Whatever your normal sneaker size, I’d recommend ordering a full size down for these boots.Aside from the fit issues, they feel great. The dark insoles (see pic) are the ones that come installed in the boots, and they are very comfy. The light insoles are extra, and they feel like they are not as cushioned. The decorative stitching appears very well done. The sole stitching is exposed on the bottom of the soles, and I’m concerned that the stitching would eventually wear through, causing decoupling of the sole from the upper. The hard toe feels very sturdy and protective.

Good-looking, comfortable boots . . . update
These are the best boots I've had in many years. When I first looked at them, I thought they were way too big, but when I tried them on I was surprised. The boots were still quite loose but closer to the right fit. I was ready to send them back when I noticed the extra insole layer included to solve exactly that problem. After slipping them into the boots under the regular insole insert, they fit perfectly. In general, I'd say that the boots are sized about a half-size large. As for "fit and finish," the boots have the feel and look of being handmade, and they are constructed in such a way that they can be resoled at a shoe shop down the line. I've generally avoided western-style boots because of the usual long square toe, a style that came about because it's easier to slip those boots into stirrups, and I don't ride horses. These boots have a modified version of that style that looks good and is more practical for general wear. The finish of the oiled leather looks great and should age well and develop a nice patina over the years.Returning to fit, for me anyway, these boots do have somewhat of a break-in period to let them gradually conform to my feet and soften a little. Nonetheless, I'm finding the break-in process to be fairly comfortable, and I'm getting lots of complements on the boots in the meantime. Overall, I think these boots are a great buy at less than $150.UPDATE, DEC. 30, 2023: After wearing these boots for a couple of weeks, they are becoming even more comfortable through a rather easy break-in period. I might add, too, that I get a lot of complements on these boots for their style. They have a western style without the air of a pretend cowboy. These are practical everyday footwear.
