Absolutely get these books if rusty in math.
If you haven't done math in a really, really long time or have a humanities background, the Manhattan Prep 8-book set is 100% necessary to get a competitive GRE score. I can't say enough good things about these books. I combined the books and practice problems with Greenlight Test Prep videos on YouTube (free) and got the math help I needed. I did not pay for prep classes and I can't see doing so if you are a disciplined person. I've been out of school for 6 years, haven't had math in about 10 years, and had no problems jumping back in with these tools. The books also come with a free online test simulator with lots more practice problems. I was very pleased with their practice tests, but do make sure you are well-practiced in the ETS practice tests too. The scores I got on the practice tests were exactly what I got on the real test. I did great and got into the B-school I wanted. :)

162 quant, 165 verbal
I didn't know about the GRE until the summer I needed to take it. I used the books from this set, magoosh's online program, and Khan Academy to study for it for a few weeks, just went through the material until I felt I had a basic handle, skipped anything I really didn't seem to understand well (since I was short on time) and focused on really getting what I could. Got a 162 on quant and 165 on verbal. I had some other GRE books I tried first, and these are just far and above better. I would suggest them to anyone.

Some incorrectly written questions
Have noticed that some questions are written incorrectly so I find myself being really confused when I compare my answers.

Very helpful
It is a very helpful textbook to understand how problems are solved in GRE. For me, all the Manhattan Prep books for GRE became my bible. There are a lot of exercises for you to do and a very detailed explanation for each of them.

Great Test Prep for Tricky GRE Math Concepts
At first I thought I didn't need this book; after all, it's pretty basic stuff. However, the value lies in how the test-makers use simple math concepts in unexpected ways to create surprisingly difficult questions. It forced me to slow down and really examine questions I thought I knew the answers to on first inspection and analyze what the question is really asking. It also made me realize one secret to the GRE: that just because you come up with "AN answer", doesn't mean you have "THE answer" to a problem; a key concept to getting the quantitative comparisons correct. I think this will have saved me from several careless mistakes I might possibly have made without this preparation.

These strategy books give you a head start for GRE math. This book is also good for concept revision. + bonus is the 6 practice tests you get with this. Good standard tests. Thumbs up for these tests
