We had a Garolla garage door fitted last year which made our life easier, however wanted it to be smart controlled but didn’t want to pay £200 for the pleasure.After some research I found out the door had a com port which most smart devices are compatible with. I chose this controller as it works with the smart life app which some of my other smart devices use to know it’s good.This was wired in and working within 20 mins, the sensor is fantastic as you cannot open the door via voice without a pin, so no shouting through the window to open the door.Fantastic value for money, easy install and the app interface is great. Highly recommend.

Managed to install and get working with my Hormann Promatic garage door opener.The USB cable was not long enough for my existing garage door setup. Unfortunately the USB cable is directly mounted to circuit board so I had to buy a separate USB extension lead. Please improve so device has USB-C port or micro USB port.The instructions are not very good and the print too small.No advice on how to connect to garage door. Please include instructions for common vendors with instructions.Lots of videos that people have posted online.

This is functional and fit for purpose. Arrived in an anti-static bag to protect the circuit board. Because the board does not have a cover, I used the bag and taped it to the top of my garage opener, then ran the cable for the magnetic contact switch down the top of chain guard and taped it in place. I had already installed a 4 plug extension to my opener location by turning off the electric supply, cutting the power to the opener and wiring in the 4 plug extension, so it was easy to plug in the USB power supply (cable was provided but plug was not [red light in pic]). The wiring was relatively straight forward to work out if you are happy with electrics. The best thing about this is that I can now open my garage door from anywhere. I previously had to use the RF opener by getting out the car, walking up next to the garage door and repeatedly pressing the button! I have now shared the opener app via Ewelink with the rest of the family so they can open the garage too. I can also rescind the share if someone looses their mobile phone. I have also been able to set up Siri so I can say "Hey Siri open the garage door" which works a treat if you are driving at the time you want to open the door. The only shame is I cannot share the Siri functionality with the other people who drive in the family (they have to do it from the app), but maybe that functionality will come in the future on Ewelink. The magnetic contact switch allows you to see from your app if the garage door is open (on) or closed (off) which is fantastic as most peoples garage doors are not visible from inside the house (always a good check last thing before bed). All in all, this is one of the best things I have bought for years, very very functional, great price, simple to install if not easy. Quite a few YouTube videos if you want a bit more detailed advice together with the Ewelink and Itead websites. Would totally recommend, luv it!

Spot on great item

Easy bit of kit to install and quickly configured and working with Smart Life app which was my primary reason for buying. From unboxing to fully working was about 20 minutes. I have 4 other devices that all use the Smart Life app. Cant get this to work with Alexa though. All devices including this are seen in the Alexa app, but I cant seem to get this to work by voice control. This is probably best as you wouldn't want someone standing outside your garage and shouting "Alexa, open the garage door".

Installed this was easy enough. Then set up a second relay to monitor this one so I could have a visible indicator of the door has been left open. Came downstairs the other morning to find my light going on/off. Then outside to check the door and sure enough it was opening and closing on its own and had been doing it all night long. I spent a few days trying to figure out the problem (home automation) and ended up disconnecting this from the WiFi only to find it was still switching it self on/off randomly. Checked all the connections, all seems fine, but a very intermittent and random issue.
