Adds Amazing Flavor
It's amazing how much flavor a few drops will add to your dishes. I have always used anchovy filets and paste to season. When I started using Anchovy extract the flavor of my sauces, gravies and dressings there was noticeable improvement in flavor. No negatives. Yes the price is high, but worth it.

Delicious but expensive
Lots of you might be wondering how this compares to Thai fish sauce, so I'll cut to the chase. It's similar for sure, but Thai fish sauce is saltier and funkier. Colatura di alici is a little oilier and tastes more like fresh fish (less "fermented funk").Very tasty, great on pasta and on lamb. Not sure it's worth the added money over fish sauce unless you're using it in such a fish-forward dish that you would object to the strong taste of fish sauce.

It's fine
I bought this after reading about garum, the ancient Roman fish sauce that it's based on. I made some linguine with Parmesan and this, and it was good, but nothing amazing. I could have got fish sauce at the grocery store and it would have been the same. Glad I tried it overall but not really worth trying again.

Fishtastic, delicious, and the best out there.
Briny , fishy and full of flavor, this oil will add so much depth and character to every meal it comes into contact with.Don't be fooled by the size of the bottle, a few drops goes along way. . Wonderful product....Sept 2018 updateJust a side note. I bought another brand a few weeks ago. It pales in comparison. This product delivers the goods and you will not be disappointed by any means with this product.. I hang my head in shame for thinking another brand was better.

If this is what the Romans were so crazy about, they would have s*** themselves over asian fish sauce or something like worchestershire. I think the same flavor could be reached through various, cheaper, methods. It arrived cloudy but the cloudiness settled into a nasty looking sediment. It still ruins the whole aesthetic. It does taste better than it looks or smells.

Nice layered flavour.
Great quality, does well in almost any dish, 100 ml goes a long way. Good price on a specialty item.

I never knew this existed until I read an article online about another veteran Italian who discovered also discovered it.... and it's amazing. If you like anchovies or are just looking for a good fish sauce, give this a try.
